Just curious. I'm looking at this one.
Come on, people. So far it's Jerry, Craig, Carl and Nita going. Surely someone needs to check off Ohio on their 50 states!
No........ PDR for me this year.

I'd been planning to run PDR this year. However, I'll be in Chicago with my parents. My sister is taking her vows that weekend. Yes, the official nun ones. (First year. She'll do another, permanent set either next year or in three years. Not sure how that goes.)
This is the one they stop at mile 13 and play 9 holes of golf right?
Couldn't resist.
My sport is your sport's punishment
I'm CONSIDERING it... at least the 1/2. Doing well on my training for the USMCM (my first)...longest run so far is 15, and I'd like an excuse to go back to Dayton for a weekend...soooo....
Need to sweet-talk the wife, and I'll be there.
Grace and peace,
Mike

What, I don't get a correct answer for being related to a nun?
What a racket. I want my money back.

Nope, we are running Maui that weekend. We ran Air Force 2 years ago. Great race, sometimes challenging course, that first hill, wow, tough, but great support and good weather is likely. One of the few marathons where the course is completely closed to traffic.
Parvaneh PR'd at Dayton and I think she won an AG award. We had C-5s flying over all day long. Really freaking cool. I think this year is the F-22, I'd love to see it flying.
If it is any consolation, Maui will be hot in comparison. I'll suffer through the race by thinking about the sunset or laying on the beach or diving or hiking or horseback riding or something equally wonderful.
This has to be the BEST answer to your question!
That's right me, Mr. Chopped Liver, didn't get jack for being the first to respond.
Funny thing is I thought about the half and how long it would take for me to get from Dayton to Philly. Two HM in 2 days? By then it might be doable. Good lawd I am done for.

Could be habit forming... sorry.
In all seriousness, congrats to your sister! Speaking of which , will she be a cloistered nun or a religious sister, of the "world" as we say? Which order is she?
Come on, Mike! Nita and I are going to smoke 'em. Join the fun.

Visiting all 50 states is one thing (I think I still have 10 to go). Nobody ever said anything about having to run a marathon in each one.
How many states have you knocked down so far Nita?

Doing the miles so they don't have to.

My sister totally loves you for knowing the difference between a nun and a religious sister.
Benedictine. The only way to fly. Or ok, RSM is cool too. And I'm not just saying that because the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas sign my paycheck.
And yes, we get all those jokes. She's actually learned a bunch of new ones, some of which I can't repeat here.
So....wait. About Air Force. What, exactly, are you guys smoking? O_o
Benedictine's are BOSS!
Nita and I and now Jerry will be putting on the afterburner's on Sept. 19th out in Dayton. What we smoke (or drink) afterwards is up for grabs.
Knowing our shy, retiring Nita after the marathon she and the rest of us will probably retire to our rooms for an 8pm bedtime. After watching Mother Angelica on EWTN.
