Re: Is anyone running the Air Force Marathon September 19th??

Already have my Dayton contacts ( a publishing firm I deal with) checking out what the best after places to go for steak and beverages in the Beavercreek area.

I assume we're going that route as opposed to the lemongrass bulgar wheat salad with a tofu tonic? (not that there's anything wrong with that).

The Air Force Marathon has the potential to be really fast.  It was one of my favorite courses and is home to my current PR a 3:19:??.  Have fun knocking off the many states.  I am abnout to knock off oat least one more continent over the next several years.

I hope to nail one or 2 in Australia and maybe jump over to China for the great wall experience for 26.2 miles.  We will see what the deployment rotation is and when I can sneak trips for the family in.

I haven't run in China, yet.  Great Wall is one I would like to do and also the marathon down from Everest Base Camp.  I walked on the Great Wall and I have heard the marathon is challenging.  The steps are randomly sized.

I ran Gold Coast in Australia a few years ago.  It is a great race in early July near the beach close to Brisbane.  Weather was terrific.  The course is flat and fast.  We spent 3 weeks and never even got to the western side of OZ.

I'm registered for the 1/2, it's only an hour away and I figure it will be a good training run a month and a few days out from the MCM.
