kind of expensive for a first time 1/2 marathon....
I agree with KFox84, to expensive!!
Yes it is a little on the steep side however did the two previous people happen to notice the " Benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society" portion of the ad? Were raising money for cancer research here people! Plus the goodie bag is especially nice so thats a side benefit. ;0)
As with anything you get what you pay for! This seems to be well worth it!! The location, the goody bags etc!!
You guys must work for the event...
No, just happy to be a part of a great cause! Feel very blessed I don't have cancer and that I am able to run!! Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will have to think about this one....$90-100 for a race that is not even sponsored by Disney or part of the ING series???...a little steep, not sure that pink crocs in the goody bag are worth that......honestly I would rather have a lower entry fee.
However it is for a good cause, and I love women only races.....the Disney Princess half is an excellent race.
Have you seen the medal?!

Too bad they didn't advertise enough; I live in Orlando and just heard about this race today; not enough time to train. Will keep an eye out for it next year, and hopefully, they'll either lower the entry fee or will be sponsored to make the fee worth the price.

I was so glad to see a 1/2 marathon so walker friendly and for women only. Thank you, thank you, thank you. See you in St. P on the 22nd.
Unfortunately, there is another inaugural half marathon nearby at Ft. Desoto Park, on Halloween, just 3 weeks before. Hopefully they can plan better next year and schedule them farther apart. Had already signed up for the Halloween Halfathon in July when it was only $30! Giving this a 1 star for not publicizing sooner and planning farther away from the first one on Halloween. Though I'm sure it will be fun.
Because there are many with my same name, I'm not able to claim many of my results thru Active. I've spent hours a calls to them, but for some reason, they can't deal. My results have been accurately compiled by Athlinks for years. Don't know why Active can't do the same...whatever. ![]()
I just completed my first half marathon yesterday - yea! I am going to register for this one - I like the medal LOL. Several of you posted that this is a woman's only race. It is not, if you read the FAQ's, it says men are welcome too. I love the idea of one day running in a woman's only, better yet, women over 40 only!
We're bringing a group from Springfield, Illinois, and we're all so excited because it's all women. I'll be running with my two sisters. I direct an all women's race here in Springfield each year so I'm hoping to get some great women-friendly race ideas. Florida in November is a lot more fun than Illinois in November. ![]()
I know of a few men that are registered and running in the event. I'm afraid to register because it frankly sounds kind of anti-male. Should my male friends be concerned about their reception at this event? I read the FAQ where it plainly (and frankly quite tersely) states "Men may Register", and the award structure only makes awards for women...am I reading too much into this that men are not welcome?
