Dear Runners, Walkers, Joggers & Strollers,

We are just 10 days away from the 2^nd Annual 5K

Race for the Nation to be held on Saturday, August 15^th in

Chambersburg, PA. See attached race flyers for directions.  Race Day registration will open promptly at 7:00 a.m.

To kickoff this event we are holding a kid’s (ages 12 and under) one-mile

fun run at 8:00 a.m., which will cost only $5 to participate in. The first

place boy and girl will receive a special prize at the awards ceremony and all

other finishers will receive finishers medals/ribbons. Immediately following the

one-mile fun run we will set the stage for the 2^nd Annual 5K Race

for the Nation, which is set to go off at 8:30 a.m. Registration for the 5K

Race will end promptly at 8:15 a.m. so be there early to prepare and collect

your race packets.

Open Men:   1st Place = $200;   2nd Place = $100;   3rd Place = $50

Open Women:   1st Place = $200;   2nd Place = $100;   3rd Place = $50

Master's Men:   1st Place = $100;   2nd Place = $50;   3rd Place = $25

Master's Women:   1st Place = $100;   2nd Place = $50;   3rd Place = $25

Course Record Bonus: A bonus of $100 will be awarded to any individual that wins their respective division and sets a nnew course record for that division.

Everyone is invited to attend the Motivational speech that

will be given by Running Legend and Olympic 10,000 meter gold medalist Billy

Mills the night before the race to be held from 6-7pm in the Auditorium of the

Chambersburg Area Middle School, 1151 East McKinley Street, Chambersburg, PA

17201. We will be selling last year’s 5K Race t-shirts at $5 a piece, Raffle

tickets for the Door Prize Drawings given away at the race, and we will also

have blank registrations on-hand for people who still need to sign up for the 5K

or one-mile races. The Speech given by Billy Mills is free to the public so

come out, invite a friend or two and listen to an inspiring life message given

by one of the most inspiring athletes of our time.
