Re: Couch to 5K, starting tomorrow 8/25---Anyone else?

Just some encouragement for us on this thread: if you examine threads that started 5 to 9 weeks ago, just like ours, you'll find people running times and distances they never thought they could. Most all are amazed at how they have increased their endurance.

Why should the people on this thread be any different?

Let's encourage each other today, and continue to post our expderiences, and we'll soon be the thread that is 5-9 weeks out and we will be the ones saying we couldn't believe we could do this.

Mike

I am starting today too.   I need to be disciplined and stick to this.   It is hard with a three year old to stick to anything.

Just completed W1D2.  Need to buy a stopwatch -- tried the Ipod/armband thing and it just didn't work for me.  So, I don't think I was exactly on track with the 60/90 thing.  I will be more prepared for my Thursday run!

I must be doing something right though -- my cheeks are still rosy from the run, and my thighs are burrrrrning!

I started this evening, after not having worked out since January. I hope we can all give each other the encouragement we need. It was tough, because I have gained 15 lbs, but I always feel better after sweating.

Welcome to all. I believe in 9 weeks we will be different people and will be in better health than we are now.

Hi I'm new here & I just finished W1D1.  I am completely out of shape, but desperately want to get back into it.  My youngest started Kindergarten last week, so I actually have time now. No more excuses.

Welcome Renee, you'll be in shape as you stick to the discipline of it.

Well I just completed W1D2, and the first half was great! The second half, uh, well, I sorta hit a wall. It felt like the wind was knocked out of me. But I kept going and was glad to finish.

It was kind of funny because when the lady's voice came on and said, "You have just two runs remaining and then you're finished", I wanted to say, "you aren't kidding!" Maybe they should change her text to say, "You have just two runs remaining and then will have completed your running for the day" :).

Keep it up everybody, let's do all 9 weeks!

Hi, started the program last night and all of Murphy's laws set out to sabotage my plans, but I prevailed.  Good luck.!http://community.active.com/images/emoticons/confused.gif!
