First 5k in a day...how do prepare

I have my first 5k in a day.  What should I do the day before the race?  Should I run and etc?

Personally, I don't run the day or sometimes 2 days before a race....it just works best for me because I get pretty worked up.....eat normally, I wouldn't go out for wings or pizza, but just eat what you normally eat, go to bed at a decent time, eat something the morning of, but nothing special since 5k isn't a huge distance.  I usually have a bowl of cornflakes and a banana with a little coffee so I don't get a headache.  Drink plenty of water the night before and the morning of, but that's about it excep thave fun!!

Nice job on the 5K!!!!  That's better than my first 5K time!!!  I always seem to start too far back too, but those races sure are a lot of fun.....I always pin my bibs on the bulletin board over my desk at work too!!!  I'm hoping to do at least 1 or 2 more before the snow flies here this year and "thinking" about a 1/2 next spring, but I'm fighting the mental thing on committing....happy running!!!
