Re: Conditioning Drill

This is a good drill form another sport that really gets you in shape:

BUD drill  ( Build Up Drill )

Start with a tip off with just 2 players on the floor ( 1v1 ).  They play 1v1 till one of them scores.  After the basket, the scored upon "team" gets another player added on the inbounds pass.  Now it's 2v1.  It will then be 2v2 and so on till it becomes 5v5.  Not only does it work on conditioning, it is a great unsettled drill to use.

Re: Conditioning Drill

Plus that drill takes the mind off the players that they are doing condidtion. I feel like the drills in which the players do not focus on just running they get more out of the drill and their conditioning.

Re: Conditioning Drill

Very true, I think it is very important for coaches to hide conditioning with in the drills. You can run all the sprints you want but there is nothing like being in playing shape.
