W1D1 October 17 or 18- who's beginning?

I'm back after a year and a half.  This is my second attempt at becoming a RUNNER.  This forum is the only way I finished the program last time, and with the help of the group, we encouraged each other and held each other accountable to finish each and every run and it made all the difference in the world.  Unfortunately I stopped after completing the program.  I need to try it again.  Anyone else??  I KNOW it works!!

Yesterday was good-- walked 20 minutes on the treadmill in the afternoon, and I wound up going for a walk in the evening for about a half an hour.

Getting ready to hop on the treadmill now .  I like being outside, but I definitely do better trying to run on the treadmill because I can pace myself better.  Have a good day tomorrow!

I'm in Denver and since I started today... I'm on a Tu-Th-Sa schedule.  I ran W1D1 and just about thought I was going to keel over.  Never been a runner before.  I'm 34 and had my first baby 5 months ago... I wasn't petite in the frist place and now my body and energy level is totally different.  Trying to figure it out!

Hi Ladies!

Glad to read your posts.  I am an east coast girl, in Massachusetts.   (a bit jealous hearing about your warm weather!) I am on the M-W-F schedule.  I have never been a runner... can walk for miles, but am trying to make the transition.

I have to say, my shins feel like exploding!   I have to look up some good warm up stretches because whatever I'm doing isn't really working.  Did todays workout on the treadmill.  Can't really say I'm running, more like a jog at this point, but averaging between 4.2 & 4.5 on the treadmill and walking at a 3.0 . Have a good day!

Ooo...didn't see this post. I'm Patten and I tried to start last night, but had some blister issues crop up last night...going to get some new shoes today (Five Fingers, maybe?) and some moleskin for the old shoes while I work in the new ones.

Re: W1D1 October 17 or 18- who's beginning?

Hi there,

I started on Monday 19 october. I am a 52 year woman . i did this once before and got to week 5 then had leave and got sick, so am trying  again.!!

I have never been a runner ..always just done walking and intervals for the last 5 years ...so thought thisvwould be  a better way to get fit and do my workout in shorter time and basically lose about 5 kgs

if fpossible.

I am using the robert ulllery podcasts and  am walking  at 5.6 kph and running at 6.6kph and using  a treadmill.

what are others doing ??

I have completed days one and two so far and found it quite easy. the tough part will be moving from running more than 5 mins - where i got stuck last time.

looking forward to gettign the support and encourgement from others..

cheers,

jane
