Should I be worried about air quality in my basement when cycling on my trainer?

Now that the weather is turning cold, wet, snowy in the Northeast, I want to start cycling on my trainer so I'm ready to go in the spring. I am concerned about the air quality in my basement however, where I would like to setup my trainer. It can be musty in the humid summer months and its cool down there in the winter (mid-50's - it's an unheated space.) Is there a way for me to test the air quality?

Yes. The 3 biggest concerns are carbon monoxide from a furnace, mold spores from moisture and radon from naturally occuring granite in the ground around you. Radon has been linked to certain cancers and the amount of radon is far greater in a basement. You can have this checked with a meter, but having good circulation is also important.
