You know aaronptrck2468, you are being very negative. Who cares how many runs in a city are available. Maybe some people can afford the cost. Maybe some of us have run in previous events by this organizer and had a fantabulous time! Maybe we get really cool medals, t-shirts and goody bags. So stop being a hater and show some love for the joy of running!
This is Sam (Race Director) from Brazen Racing (organizer of the Nitro Turkey race).
nomkwueme, I appreciate your support and I'm really glad you've had a great time at our races.
I've attempted to contact Mr. Ford (aaronptrck/aaronptrck2468) regarding his two negative reviews, but he has thus far not responded to any of my communications. I've even invited him out to one of our Brazen Racing runs at a discount, just so he can see what we are all about.
I have actually lived in Pinole for 12 years, and am a big fan of Big Al (having participated in many of his events), but I honestly had never even heard of a Big Al Turkey Trot until after we organized this race.
Nevertheless, I believe the idea that it is all about the "joy of running" is exactly right. I wish Big Al the greatest success with all his runs and I just hope as many people as possible get out and run and have a good time on Thanksgiving -- whatever race they choose!
I hope you'll excuse my giving my own event 5 stars, but it won't let me leave this without giving it some rating.
The price is in line with other races in the Bay Area. I prefer dirt trail runs to paved trail runs. The gender-specific shirts, tech shirt option, and beautiful medal were reason enough for me to register for the 5K. Couldn't find the Run aaron mentioned online.
