I just spent a little while walking the last .2 miles of the course with my best buddy who is also running - looking the finish line - taking pictures getting mistaken for tourists !!  and  getting all teary !! -

 

I`m excited .. nervous ,, but most of all very proud to have come this far and I feel very lucky that I get to run NYC as my my first marathon

Just want to throw my 2 cents in here too.  A first marathon is so special.  Make sure you take enough time from all that serious running to just enjoy it.  Great job on the training.  Wishing you good luck, good weather and a great race.

Yes good luck!   I'm excited for you.  I'm running a 5k at 10am that day but hope to catch so tv coverage later on.  I'm sure you will cross my mind during my little race.

BEST WISHES in your first marathon~~~NYC!!  It's been awesome to follow your training Spice!  I'm looking forward to your report.  Also, really dig the pics you posted of your trainer...serious 'WoW factor'!  Your testimonial is inspiring, you have a lot to be proud of goin out and giving this all you have and helping those novices out there like me with training tips.

For anybody who's wondering (and not following her on the NYC Marathon site), Spicegeek hit the 14-mile mark in 2:04:48, for an 8:54 min/mile pace. She's on target for a sub-four-hour finish. Go Spicegeek!

Spicegeek's hit the 35k mark at 3:19:06. That's a 9:09 pace, just over a 4:00 hour finish.
