Feel the joy of running ![]()
Holy Cow!! We have some speed demons here!! I''m curious to see more answers...
Mine was a little more than 35 minutes. I was shocked b/c it felt like I was running slower. Just know that you can do it. i am 41 years old and always thought I was too short, squat, flat-footed etc etc to run but always wanted to do a 5k. The more I got out there and realized that anyone can run, and we are only ones limiting ourselves, the more I thought: maybe I can do this. For me, I dont worry about time right now...I just focus on finishing! ![]()
Well said!! Thanks!
But I've gotta admit I'm a bit curious. My normal running time eight years ago was pretty good for my age. I averaged somewhere around 8:30 mile. Now it is more like 9:35-9:43... Not good for alot of people. But hey, at least I'm trying, right?? I'm 43. I'd like to do 3 5k's and then maybe try for something bigger next. One thing at a time though. I've gotta get through nursing my calf...UGH!!!
I had one 5k before this but cannot find my time anywhere
(oh, now i get it -- I was a walker - not timed)

33:23 and I didn't train for it....just did it on a whim; wasn't even sure I could run the whole thing, but I did and I've been hooked ever since!!! I'm still not setting any speed records, but I have fun and am looking forward to longer races!!
To make you all feel fast, my first 5K a few weeks ago was 50 min 30 sec or so. I am 250 and losing weight on WW and running. So I hope to run faster as I progress in weight loss and my running program. I did run the whole 5K though; no walking. ![]()

Awesome - congratulations!
My time was 30:34.5. I didn't even know I could run that fast ![]()
I haven't run a 5K race yet... my first race will actually be a 5 miler. But my best Nike+ 5K time is 37'22"...
