33:49 -  I was on a training program to increase running time and at the time, my intervals were to run 1 minute and walk 2 minutes.  Was very pleased with this time.

40:42 for the first, 37:14 on the second, can't wait to do the third!

I just ran my first 5K this past weekend.  I am 46 and haven't run in any type of race in 26 years.  But my 12 year old has taken up running and it makes more sense to join him than to watch him.  He finished in about 22 minutes.  I finished in just under 39:30 and I was happy that I was able to run the whole way - no walking.  I think my time would have been faster had I alternated walking and faster running, but I wanted to run the whole way.  I finished 7th out of 12 women in my age group.  The range of times from the first place runner to the last place runner was very large so I think that means that everyone is just out there doing their best and it doesn't really matter what that is - it's faster than everyone else who is sitting home.  I am going to try to run another 5K time and lower my time of course, but the best thing to compare it to is my own first time, not any body elses.  Does that make sense?

Yesterday was my first 5k, my time was 29:30.  Maybe would have been better if I had trained on hills as big as the one I had to run yesterday!!!  I finished 5th in my age group!

Whoa... some of ya'll are speed demons.... I haven't run my first 5k yet. It's in a few weeks. I just hope to get under 60 minutes.

At 51 and 1/2 years old, having never run in anything, I signed up for a 5k on an impulse.  With just 2 weeks of "training", I came in under 35 minutes.
