I want to start a hiking group at Active. This team could include beginner to advanced-level hikers, anyone who wants to get out on the weekends and hike. I was thinking we could pick some local spots around San Diego, or within a few hours driving distance, and plan some weekend hikes. It would be an opportunity to get some good cardio work in, and to socialize with your colleagues & friends.
What do you think?
It looks like there's interest, so we'll organize this internally for a while until Active creates a group on here for hikers.
I'll find a spot for our first hike and we'll get rolling! (or should I say elevating)?
I'm thinking the first trip will be this Sunday, to Mt. Woodson in Poway. We could start early so it won't be too hot out. If we start at the trail head it's 6.4 mi. If we start at the Blue Sky Reserve it's a good, challenging 10 mi. hike. Which would you guys prefer? I know everyone's at different levels.
E-mail me if you're down for this Sunday and we'll head up there. firstname.lastname@example.org Once I have everyone's e-mail addresses I can coordinate everything.
That's a great hike! I'd love to join everyone, but I'll be in Hawaii hiking to some waterfalls and lava flows. Enjoy, and I'll catch everyone next time!
Hey! I would definitely be interested. I don't have much hiking experience, but would love to get involved. I'm away this weekend, but hopefully I can get on the mailing list for future hikes. Thanks! Great idea.
I am thinking Iron Mtn., Nov. 11th. Sound good to you guys? Say, 8 am?
E-mail me if you're interested, and we'll organize it!
