LOVING my Nike + Sportsband!!!

My Ironman's band finally broke after many years of dutiful service, so my husband bought me a new watch to wear running.  He originally purchased a MIO for me, which was similar to the Iron Man, but also had a heart rate monitor.  It was pink and I liked the black color of my old watch so I took it back to Dick's to trade it out for black or gray.  While I was there, I started to look at the other offerings that they had... I would LOVE a Forerunner, but I just cant spend $300 right now on one.

That is when I found the Nike + Sportsband.  No heart rate monitor, but it can be worn as a regular watch.  You put a chip on your shoe, calibrate it, and off you go.  It tells me my pace, time running, calories burned, and distance.  The only drawbacks are that you cant see the actual time while running and no backlight but you can see it decently under a streetlight.

BUT!  The face of the watch snaps off and it is a USB port.  It loads up all of your run data on the Nike + website where you can track your mileage, pace, calories, set goals for the week, or month.  You can also see others' info as well.  I joined a 'Challenge' on the site for most miles over the Thanksgiving weekend (currently somewhere around 36th place- woot!)  It's has been a really great motivator!  I've been recovering from plantar fasciitis lately and am jsut starting to get my mileage back up.  I was ready to quit today but saw how close I was to a 10K run that I kept going and completed it.

So, it's a huge motivational tool for me, plus I love tracking everything so I can see what I am doing each day, each week.  The best part?  The sportsband was only $59 and the pouch for the shoe chip was $7, so it wont break the bank.  Love it.

I too love my nike+ only I use the ipod set instead, and with that you get to see your distance, pace, time when ever you choose to look at your ipod, you can also slect different options when starting your workout ie preset distance times cal burner etc and each can be customized as well.  Plus when I plug my ipod into my laptop to charge or update music it automatically uploads my workout info to the site.  I chose not to go for the nike shoes due to the fact that my feet don't get along with them, so I love that there are the little pouches that can be attached to you laces.

My sister also uses the sportsband and loves it too
