I have experienced the "cheat day" phenomenon a bit referenced in the second article.
In fact, last night I finished my run and come 10:30 I realized I hadn't eaten dinner. Not good.
Not only that, but because of my run, I was starving.
Never a good thing to go into the kitchen and try to figure out what to eat when you are *really* hungry.
I ended up having not one but 2 bowls of cereal. And I don't mean the recommended portion either. They were pretty full bowls.
This is really bad for a low carb diet, which is what I do.
Net result? I lost 2 pounds between weighing in yesterday and today.
Also, my wife and I have a planned "ice cream day" once a month. We have a local frozen custard place that both of us like. Once a month is well off of what we used to do, so I feel pretty good about that. Anyway, I find that I often drop a pound or so after those days as well. Up till now I had assumed that this was just luck of the draw.
Interesting... But yeah... I'm a little scared on this. Gotta take it slow.
Stuff I don't leave home without...
