I was wondering if anybody is using an online running log? I just bought a new pair of running shoes and want to start tracking my mileage.
Thanks!
Jill

Today I just purchased the Nike+ iPod Sport Kit and I will be using that to track my mileage/progress!
I've been using the Nike+ Ipod for the past year and it works great for the price. There are a few others out there, Daily Mile is another one I have been noticing people using.
I love my Nike+, been using for 6mo now and it makes it so easy and love all the challenges you can join, plus the goal setting is really motivational esp when its right there infront of you. I have for my ipod but my sister likes to run without music and uses the armband and loves it.

Nope. You can use the Nike+ system with any shoe...just get a keyholder pocket and place the chip inside. Other companies make specific holder for the Nike+ system as well (check out the nathan sensor pocket.) the Nike shoes that are "Nike+ compatible" have a cutout in the midsole of the shoe to place the chip inside.
Some other great running logs to consider:

Depending on the phone that you have, it may have some tracking programs on there. Take for example the iPhone has some of the following:
Strands
RunKeeper
iTrails
and several others

I've been using Active Trainer right here on Active.com for years.
It's free and you should already have a log in account if you are posting messages here. There is a link to it in the training section.
It includes a shoe tracker to keep track of the mileage you run in each pair.
I copy the information into an excel spreadsheet as a backup and because I am a charts and graphs geek.

I am using myfastfeet.com. It does track shoe mileage and also lets you set up routes using Google maps. It will also sync with Garmin Forerunner and Nike+.
Yes, this one is good http://www.activetrainer.com/ you can add milage to your shoes and log your workouts, plan routes and it will tell you how long the route is, I think its really good, you can also print reports at the end of the month showing how much of your workout time is on what activity, how your sleep and workout results, progress etc in the form of a graph, pie chart etc. I think thats got to be good motivation!
Ive been using the active trainer log as well! It lets me put in everything I've done (pilates, spin class, etc) except the little machiene circuit at the gym.
Lately Ive also been using livestrong.com's daily plate. You put in what you ate & it lists your calories (& sodium, fat, carbs, etc) & puts them into a pie chart & a graph and tells you how many calories you have used & how many you have left! Its amazing. But what I really like is that you can put in what exercise you did & it takes calories off (calroies burned during exercise). One morning I got up & made a banana smoothie & went to spin class. When I got home I entered all that into the daily plate and I was around negative 200-300 calories!
So, it just really helps to show you what youve done, how many calories you get & have used, how many more you get from doing physical activity, etc. It also lets you track how much water you drink.
I have a Garmin GPS watch and keep track of all my miles. I log them on Sparkpeople.com also. I love to see the miles add up and see my improvements.
That livestrong website sounds great, I will need to have a look at that!
I just recently posted a running log spreadsheet for download (for free) on my blog if you would be interested in an offline solution. Check it out here: Step 1 Runner Running Log
Personally I prefer tracking all my running offline, as you never know when an online service might quit operating, change their policies, lose your data, etc.
Check out http://www.dailymile.com
You can participate in challenges, share workouts to facebook & twitter, and find runners and routes in your area.
They also have Nike+ integration and Garmin!
