Kayak/Canoe to Win $$$ in North Florida

Discover protected waters, spot birds and wildlife, experience the beautiful scenery, and win over $3,500 in cash and prizes while supporting land conservation during the EcoQuest Kayaking Adventure. The event will be a self-guided kayak/canoe tour and geocaching activity to explore five amazing sites that are preservation priorities by the North Florida Land Trust.

The self-guided event will take place from Saturday, June 5 through Thursday June 10, and will culminate with a Family Fun Fest on Saturday, June 12.

The event also will include a nature bird photography contest and environmental education activities for children from Project WET, etc. at a Family Fun Fest on Saturday, June 12.  At the Family Fun Fest, prizes will be awarded to event participants and families will enjoy music, fun, food, environmental exhibits, a farmer’s market, scavenger hunts and more.

EcoQuest is a unique opportunity to explore the rich coastal areas, wetlands and other wonderful waterways within North Florida. Participants choose their level of involvement in the event–they can select just one location, or they can tour up to all five sites during the week.

To participate, entrants must pre-register online at and pay earlybird registration of just $10 for each location they plan to tour. After May 1, price is $15 per location. Upon registering, they will receive their event tickets.

Once in the water, participants must find each location’s five special “Treasure Boxes” in which to deposit their tickets. This will be used as proof to confirm that participants toured the routes at each site. Teams of Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, corporate groups, etc. are encouraged to enter.

All tickets collected from the Treasure Boxes will be entered into a wildcard raffle for a $1,000 cash prize.

Entrants who complete all five locations will be able to compete in a Winner’s Challenge to determine the overall EcoQuest

winner and recipient of the $2,500 cash grand prize. Proceeds from the event will benefit the North Florida Land Trust, which is dedicated to preserving natural areas and special places in North Florida.
