Run in memory of a fallen hero while supporting the TAPS Mission

If you are thinking about running for a charity, please consider TAPS!

TAPS stands for Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.  TAPS is a non-profit veteran's organization that provides programs and services to the families of our nation's fallen heroes to help them cope and heal. Some of the outreach services include: military survivor seminars, good grief camps for children, a 24 hour crisis hotline, case work assistance, an online community to connect with other military survivors, resources for healing, and the heart of the organization is the peer support network.

The TAPS Run and Remember Team raises funds and awareness for TAPS to support the on-going mission.  Alll runners are asked to run in memory of a fallen hero, and if you don't have a fallen hero to honor, TAPS will match you up with a surviving military family and ask that you run in memory of their hero.  It is wonderful outreach that means so much to those families whose loved one paid the ultimate sacrifice.

There is a small fundraising requirement.  TAPS requires that all non-military survivors raise a minimum of $500.  You are even given six weeks after the event to raise the funds.  Last year, no one had trouble making the minimum requirement. In fact, almost everyone exceeded it.
