I am anew runner, age 54, and preparing to run my first ever anything...I am running a half marithion on August 21st. Does lifting weights work different muscels than running? I know that we are told to rest muscles between workouts. I don't won't to overwork my various leg muscles, but at the same time I do want to do all I can to lift weights that will help my running. Any advice of when to lift and are there particular lifting exercises that I should avoid while preparing for my half marithon? Thanks for any help anyone can offer!
