I am sorta trying to do a trial run of week one this week.... but I'm not fully able to do it. Hope to be up to even couch status by Sunday then 9 weeks to 5K status!! Also starting a new diet plan on Sunday. I am looking to drop 50 pounds by my 40th birthday in April.
Anyone up for joining me? I'd love the company and accountability!
I'll join you! I started the c25k last month but got off track before getting to week 3. I want to start it up again and need to get motivated. I am starting from "couch" too. When I started it last month it was hard but doable. I was really surprised and proud of myself! I am looking to lose 35 lbs. and to be healthier in general.
I'll join you! I started a year or so ago and got pretty far but then got sidetracked. I am doing the Warrior Dash in October and REALLY need to get ready!

I'm in! I am already committed to run in a 5K this fall (Sept. 25) with some friends. I am REALLY out of shape, so will need to hear some encouraging stories to help keep me going.
I am in! I need to get off the couch...actually the chair...I sit at my job all day. Also I have not been eating right and need to get moving with that.
I have a question...from what I understand, this training program is to be done three days a week...can regular walking be done in between those days? I assume nothing strenuous because I know those are rest days, but I am thinking 30 minutes of semi-brisk walking?

I have signed up for my first 5k in January at the Disney Weekend of Running in Florida ~ excited and want to make sure i am 100% prepared since i am running with friends that are also doing the half-marathon & marathon ~ i don't want to be too embarrassed! I started the South Beach Diet on 3/27 and i am down 44 pounds, so the next step is running!
I'd love too join you! I have fears though. For one, I'm overweight and am kinda embarrassed to be seen trucking this behind around my neighborhood. Also, shoes!!! Where can I get good shoes that aren't going to cost me a fortune? Any thoughts?!
As much as I hate running, I hate being out of shape even more. Let's do this thing.
I'm in! I'm actually doing things a little backwards... I did a sprint triathlon last week and I more of less walked the 5K portion. I want to get more into running as I think it is the #1 exercise to help weight loss, so my friend and I are planning to do a 5K in October. I've done part of this program before and I think it really works. I'm thinking of starting a facebook group; what do folks think?
I am most definitely in. I tried it once before and stopped. I really want to do this. I also turn 40 in April. (the 6th).

Absolutely I am in as well! Worked like mad this summer and no time for even walking. Sunday it is. How do we do this? Reply to this thread on how we are doing and giving support or startin a new one?

I just started the program on Tuesday, did my second "jog" this morning. I was sucking wind the whole way but I did it. I plan on signing up for a 5K as motivation to stick with it this time.
