Well, Shaq could be the case like MJ, because the Bulls retired MJ's jersey as a Chicago Bull, but MJ later came back out of retirement for the Bulls again, then I think he took another break or get injured, then went to the Wizards for a few seasons, and retired in 2003.
There's no reason that Shaq should not be tired as an LA Laker, even if he goes to the Celtics. I don't know how it works, and he may need to retire, then come back to the Celtics, so Los Angeles can honor him, but if he doesn't, I feel his legacy will still be intact, and he'll still be a first ballot Hall of Famer. But if the Los Angeles Franchise knows anything about there team, Shaq dominated for several years with them, and carried it over up until 2006 with Wade in Miami.
He should retire after this season, but I'd like to see him come back to LA, and he and Fish will retire in 2011 and 2012 season.
Shaq already left his imprint on the game, and it's safe to say that LA will retire his jersey, especially since he will be a Hall of Famer.
Maybe but I dont see it what did he do they brought Three Championships but it was Mostly a team Effert. Maybe but his jersey will be Retired in Orlando.
Personally,i think his jersey should be retired, but, considering how picky the lakers are when they want to retire someone's jersey,i think this move dents his legacy with the lakers, because he's moving to their arch-enemy in the celtics.I still think they're gonna retire it though.
Ooooh, I don't know, that's a tough one. But about Shaq going to the Celtics, I don't like it. Take for instance when he played for Phoenix. He slowed the team down, and they ended up pretty much flunking that season. Look at when he played for Cleveland. Last year, their playoff team underachieved. Shaq wasn't the main reason, but yet he still was one of those reasons that the Cavs didn't do well.
