Welcome Rocy & MaryBeth to our group. MB, Retiredgirl gave you some good "food for thought". While running & or walking, or any exercise is the catalyst to help burn that fat, we must be aware of what we consume. I've found too that w/ daily exercise, I want to chose healthier foods. But most of all, be patient w/ yourself. One or two pounds a week adds up quickly.
Speaking of..... Retiredgirl, you just gave me the push that I needed to start tracking my own intake and get this extra 15 pounds off. Thanks! my problem has been those cookies that my dh always has laying around. Two of them just negated the 3 mile walk.....dumb me.
Tomorrow is Day 50 in John Bingham's 100 Days Challenge (see other thread on this site) and I vow to make getting a few pounds off my goal for the next 50 days. I've done well on the exercise part.
Slomo....you are doing great. It isn't the speed that is impt. Slow go is much better than no go! Hold your head high and keep on moving. 8 miles WOW!
Art, good luck on your long training run.
My daugher & I will shoot for a 5 miler tomorrow. I walked and did yoga today.
If anyone is running a race this weekend.....best of luck. May the wind be at your back!

61 year olds must be out of their minds to run a half marathon followed by a full the next day!
