Re: ipods

ok sgray...100 times huh?...your sounding like NH more everyday

I'm a roadie and have seen some wipeouts..this looks like a wide left turn with an outside glancing contact..if a biker is riding 20mph and hits head on he adds 20 to the cars speed..which may have been only 30mph..but the 50+- combined mph is worse than getting hit be Junior Seau on full tilt in the chest...hence the riding with traffic to minimze damage..that's why we wear those little mirrors on our sunglasses..but seriously..you and i both know accidents in every sport happen all the time...sans music..I personally need no Maryt visual confirmation.. of course I don't see dead people and I've only run 100,001 races..

Re: ipods

I have only run 5,899 races. But they were all marathon distance or longer, so they might equate to more than yours, so hahaha.  Plus, most of my races I run in, and listen to music in, I miss my turns and wind up running even longer distances as I have to backtrack and find the course.  You know how it goes when you rock the iPods?

Re: ipods

I have had some close calls whilst running with my Ipod but I have avoided them, while listening to my music, because I am aware.  I run in the city, I run along some very busy roads and in order to run longer, there are some busy roads that I need to cross.  I do all of this with my Ipod.  I pay attention to what is going on around me, I have eyes, they certainly work well with or without music.  And I can still hear what is going on around me because I know where and when is the appropriate time to turn up or turn down my music.  I think we all need to do what works best for us and if running without music works for you then that is what you need to do.  Running with music works for me and I will continue to use it.  The most important thing is that I am out doing something that is good for me

Parker -

Hmmm. The way Junior and the rest of the girls played last Sunday, getting hit by them would be like being in the middle of a sorority girl pillow fight.  Wow, that conjures up some fanta-, er, visions.

Re: ipods

Come on now, Prof. RK, leave my poor Patriots out of this!  Just imagine my weekend - bruised toes and ego AND the Patriots lost!!

So it looks like parker, sgray and runnerchick ran off Mr. Crash & Burn Thorogood!  Gotta feel a bit sorry for the dude, based on his posts, he must have been riding without a helmet!!

I know, I know, Moderator Jay, that was mean.  I'll throw three Hail Mary's and listen to "The Saints Are Coming" by U2 & Green Day as penance, okay?

Re: ipods

You are immoral, slightly perverse and an IAAM....at least we have that in common...Although I was rooting for the Giants ( our hapless Tampa Bay Suckaneers got whupped in the playoffs so at least they saved a small grace by getting beat by a SuperBowl champ) Junior does hit hard.. it was the rest of the giggly Krappa Delta Brady Bunch that choked on the feathers...is that sorority nearby? just curious.:)

Re: ipods

Ok Queen Maryt II..enough with the boo boo toes..you wear an ipod ..you take the hits...your team ipod...spit on the toes and go...the embarising Pats are beyond Sadness..they wine and dine their fans all season, hot kiss and hug them through the playoffs.. then Feb 3 get completely neck'ed in the Super Dome and can't perform...that is way sad..and I'm certain disappointing..

do you know that sorority Rk mentioned? just curious?

lahrunner -

Had to laugh at George Thorogood "And the Delaware Destroyers". Way to garner friends with the first post.  I was about to smack him with the old "When I want your opinion I'll tell you what it is" but you guys beat me to it.

Sorry about your Patsies (no I'm not).  Did you see where the American Medical Association just released a new statement about the Heimlich Maneuver?  No longer do you grab your throat with both hands.  Instead, prominently display the Patriots logo.

Re: ipods

Make all the fun you want about my guy, Tom and company, it won't phase

me 'cuz I'm in a zen zone thanks to a some needle-ing.   Have you tried

that for your sciatic problem, Prof. RK?  And parker, inserting a few

needles into the right places has done wonders for those who suffer

from acerbic-iata.      OMG!  Without the constant barrage of

nonsensical ramblings from NHS, Maryt and the newly added, Crash

Thorogood, we're reduced to raggin' on each other!!

I'm not distracted they say. It took you guys about almost 1200 posts to finally figure what your talents really are "raggin"

Let's see, what is that equation. 1200posts divided by ??????? = raggin.

The missing variable is "cluelessness" Though we did establish that many of you can't read more than one thought in a post without confusing them for restatement later.
