I've never been a runner before, but have decided to take the bull by the horns and start the C25K with some ladies I know. We will all be running alone, but sharing our experience and supporting each other on FB.
Any other almost-50-year old women out there who are starting this program?
I'm 51 and just did Week 1 Day 1. I'd love to have a buddy to share this project. I haven't run for close to 30 years and am in the process of shedding weight too.
C25K Start: 23rd August '10
I am going to start the C25K today. Did that a few years ago then life got in the way- I've been running off and on since and I'd like to go back to it.
I don't know anyone else my age who runs, would love to touch base here with others my age!! Just turned 49. Thanks!
There are lots of runners here in their 40s, 50s and beyond (here, for instance: http://community.active.com/message/843840#843840). Look in Newbie Cafe for C25K runners (http://community.active.com/community/sports/running/newbies). They don't particularly care how old you are.
BTW, I'm 62 and have been running for 25+ years.
I'm 58 and knocking very hard on 59's door. I have never been what I would call a runner but "they" have forever fascinated me. And so here I go - literally. Distance and speed don't matter to me. Finishing last is still finishing.
cheers to the Boomers!
I'm 51 (knocking on 52's door, lol). I've run a little off and on for the past 15 years, but not so much lately. I just started C25K this week, and I'm determined to finally run a 5K sometime soon. I saw a post on another thread where they wanted to be able to run at 65 -- I want to do that and beyond. So, here I go too. Good luck -- I plan to stay on these forums so I can be accountable.
