Depends on how far you are willing to travel(or where you live), there are ones in Las Vegas in April, August and October.

    Re: welcome to the sport

no sorry don't know st. louis at all but check trifind.com and active.com then check w/ local tri clubs to see what others have said about the races.  also I think beginnertriathlete.com has a fairly large collection of race reports you can check.

do you have a training plan together already? if not check the generic ones at triathlete.com, beginnertriathlete.com, trinewbies.com trifuel.com and slowtwitch.com should give you some good ideas.

Reach out to your local club www.stlouistriclub.com  They are a great resource for tri's in your area. They have some great coaches that I have worked with before and been to coaching seminars with.

trifind.com has a pretty listing of 70.3 and half iron events. any place or time of year you'd like to come up?

    Re: Triathlon Dates

    Hey there,

I'm also new to tri. I've done a sprint tri so far and am in training for the Lavaman triathlon on the Big Island of Hawaii. It's an Olympic distance tri. It's April 6 and it comes highly recommended as a first tri event by many experienced triathletes. Here's the website: http://lavamantriathlon.com/. The bike course is over a portion of the Ironman world championship bike course.

    Take care,

    Randy
