Load Drill for Pitchers

A pitcher's strength, or "load", comes from their legs. Here's a drill to make sure your hurlers have the lower-body mechanics they need to succeed.

    >>>Get a folding chair and place the back of it close to the rubber towards the third-base side...

Let your pitcher assume a wind-up position and begin their delivery. As the pitcher's left leg rises, watch it as it comes down and through the pitching motion. If the leg hits the chair at any time, one of two things is happening:<<<

Always compare anything you believe or are told about pitching or hitting to slow motion video of the best in the world.

Any comments or thoughts as to whether Lincecum could perform the described drill with his current pitching motion?

If Mikeyactive doesn't want to discuss it hopefully Mikey will in the future compare anything he teaches to slow motion video of the best in the world. Let that be your first truth detector.
