Right BlueBeak....she is a peach...and I had to put my "claim" in early-on in high school, 1948, before some other guy picked her off the tree.
Funny thing---she is Irish, I am Italian/Sicilian...those days it was "taboo" not to marry within your own.
Family/friends, hers and mine, said it was "not good" and would never last.
My Mother said....I would "starve" because the Irish couldn't cook.
Guess what... coming home after 2 years being overseas in the military, we were married.
I had 2 more months to serve, with some rehab, before being discharged.
While waiting for me to come home again; she took cooking lessons from my Mother.
I benefitted---got my corn beef and cabbage, and Italian meals.
Both families came together.
And that's the "secret" to our 57 years.
bluezebra: I find it interesting that that comments about flags offends you. You know, about use of flags or not on flag day. It will be interesting to see whether or not your man has flags in the oval office in tonight's damage control speech. He has already shown his colors on more than one occasion.
