Banana Replacement?

I have read in numerous places that a banana is a great pre- and post-workout snack; however, bananas give me indigestion.  What would be as good or close to as good as a banana? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am about to change my workout routine to evenings before dinner and I don't want to be starving! I am not a picky eater either...

Most all fruits and vegetables are high in potassium.  Oranges and mellons are good.

Coconut water! I just recently discovered this treasure. It has more potasium than a banana, and it tastes pretty good to.

Blech! I could not stomach coconut water. I thought it was going to be sweet, and it wasn't. dumped a bunch of sugar in it- I think that negated it's goodness

tomato juice, cherry juice, pears, pineapple... they all help with inflammation as well!

Coconut water is great also... if you can stomach the sweetness.

    Good luck!

Another little recovery tip -- in the juices, shake/stir in some glutamine powder (if you have it). It definitely helps speed up healthy recovery w/ your muscles, fibers, etc.

One 16 oz glass Chocolate Milk for recovery.  It has the perfect balance of protein and carbohydrates replacement  for recovery after a run or workout.

    Re: Banana Replacement?

I would drink a protein shake, and put a table spoon of blackstrap molasses in it.  Blackstrap has massive amounts of potassium and lots of other great nutrients as well.
