Purchase insurance through one of the sanctioning bodies (NSA, ASA).  Its not that expensive and all tournaments will want proof of insurance.  A waiver is good to have also, but will mean nothing to a tournament director.  Also, some states sanctioning bodies make insurance part of their registration fee.
